Meet the Band is a new and ongoing series featuring a new band member each week.
With over 65 members, and new people joining all the time, this is going to take a while.

Years in the band: since 1996, starting 22nd year

Why he chose his instrument: He originally wanted to play clarinet, but in 6th Grade he couldn’t make a sound on it. His teacher gave him a reed and a bocal and he was successful! Since then, Zeb has learned to play the saxophone.

Other hobbies: Golf, quilting, and bowling
Instrument: Flute & Piccolo. I started playing the piccolo in college because they said I had to and I grew to love it.
Favorite Music/Composers: Sousa Marches, Persechetti, and Grainger
Instrument: Percussion. I like it because it's foundational and supports the rest of the band.
Favorite Music: Jazz, especially with a great drum set.
Instrument: French Horn. In the tenth grade, there were 19 trumpets and only one horn, so I switched.
Favorite Composer: Philip Glass. John Carpenter is also very good.
Instrument: Euphonium- Third generation player. Found the euphonium in grandpa's closet and was hooked.
Favorite Composer: John Philip Sousa
Instrument: Trumpet. My grandfather was a bugler in the army in the 1880s, in Wyoming badlands. I got his bugle when I was eight and decided, then and there, that I would play the trumpet.
Favorite Composer: I have a lot... Aaron Copland, Leonard Bernstein, Norman Dello Joio, George Gershwin, Percy Grainger, and Gulstav Holst.
Instrument: Trombone. I like the sound of it... I mean, why not?
Favorite Composer: Gustav Holst and Vincent Persichetti because of the sounds they create.
Instrument(s): Percussion. In the fifth grade, when I started band, I was bad at the other instruments.
Favorite Composer: Two- Frank Ticheli and David Holsinger. They both write for an obscene number of percussion instruments and that's fun to play.
Instrument: Trumpet. I just love brass music.
Favorite Composer: Giovanni Gabrielli- He writes for brass instruments.
Least Favorite: Arnold Schoenberg- His music is too tonal and dissident.
Instrument: Flute. There was never any question. I was born knowing I'd play the flute.
Favorite Composer: Holst. I never grow tired of playing his music.
